I have never worried about equalizing against Alapin variation, fortunately Black has several reliable lines after both 2...Nf6 and 2...d5. It's been always a question-how to obtain the most fighting position for Black, where White has no opportunity to simplify the game easily. In my opinion the idea 2...d5 3.exd5 Nf6!? represent the most fighting line for Black. There are several lines where Black is pawn down and even two pawns down in the critical line after 4.Qa4. However, Black always gets a lot of compensation and overall very active play, something Sicilian players are looking for in every variation. As always, my file provides full Black Repertoire starting from the position after 1.e4 c5 2.c3 d5 with very detailed coverage of the most important lines. A lot of interesting novelties/improvements for Black. I have no doubts this material will serve you for many years ahead!
